Our story

Hi, I'm Mrs. Kelder

I've been baking for families in Manlius for more than 20 years, first as a little side hustle out of my home and, since 2013, right here on East Seneca Street. This fall marks 13 years of Mrs. Kelder's Cakes.

Those are our set hours. Happy Half Hour is the exception, and only when we still have cupcakes at closing.

A sweet deal at the end of the day

Happy Half Hour

If there are still cupcakes in the case when we close at 6:00 pm, we box them up and sell them for half price. Every day is different so we don’t know ahead of time whether it will happen or not.

  • Starts at 6:00 pm and runs until 6:30 pm, or until they are gone, whichever comes first
  • Sold by the half dozen or the full dozen for half price
  • Boxed up as an assortment of whatever flavors are left. No swaps or substitutions, grab and go!
  • If the case sells out earlier in the day, there is no Happy Half Hour that night
  • First come, first served. We cannot hold a box, take a name or set one aside

The part everyone gets wrong: this is not the last thirty minutes we are open. It is an extra half hour after we close, and it only happens if there is something left to sell. We do not bake or stock extra just to have stock to discount, so it is not part of our posted hours and it is never a guarantee.

We will try to post on Instagram if it is not happening, but we can also sell out in the first few minutes and there isn’t much warning.
